Standard Glass showcases use tempered glass throughout — top, sides, and shelves. Tempered glass is safety-rated: if broken, it shatters into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards. The glass top and shelves are typically 3/16" thickness. Interior shelves are adjustable on most models.
